Artificial Christmas trees have many benefits, but the biggest one has to be the quick setup and cleanup, which makes decorating for the holidays a whole lot simpler. We tested out The Holiday Aisle’s 6-foot Frosted Berry Green Pine Christmas Tree, paying close attention to the assembly process, overall look and feel of the branches, and price. Keep reading to see what we found.
Setup Process: Expect to get dusted with snow
The setup for this Christmas tree is straightforward and quick. It comes with three collapsed and bound sections and a metal stand. To assemble, we placed the bottom section into the stand and locked it in place with the screws located on the metal stand. Then, we inserted the middle section into the bottom piece, followed by the top section that fits into the middle piece. We followed the diagram found on the assembly instructions to properly connect the plugs. After assembling the tree, we shaped the branches, which took about 20 to 25 minutes. The instructions recommend starting with the branches closest to the pole and then working out from there to the ends. There are detailed steps explaining how to make the tree look more natural during the shaping process. When assembling and shaping the tree, we found that our clothes got covered with the faux snow found on the branches. Just don’t wear anything nice or anything you’d hate to have covered in snow dust when putting up this tree. We found that it only shed during setup and when we moved the tree from one room to another, but it otherwise doesn’t shed if stationary.
Appearance: Classy, slender, and natural-looking
The Holiday Aisle Frosted Berry Green Pine Christmas Tree is stunningly beautiful. With its white lights and muted color scheme, the overall style seems sophisticated and geared towards an adult clientele rather than children. The tree came pre-decorated with realistic pine cones and berries, and, again, all of the branches and decorations are lightly dusted with “snow.” Note that the berries can fall off, which could potentially pose a choking hazard if you have young kids. The long needles found on the hinged branches look very realistic, not only in color but also in length. They’re long—similar to those found on a live pine tree. The tree is unique in its overall shape. Once the branches are fanned out completely, we found that it is quite slender. Unlike your typical tree that’s plump at the bottom and thins out towards the top, this tree is slightly wider at the bottom, thins out some around the middle section, and then stays that same width pretty much up to the top.
Feel: Lightweight with sturdy branches
At just 21 pounds, this tree is lightweight and easy to move around the house after it’s assembled. Despite being light, though, the branches are very sturdy. We had no trouble hanging ornaments. The tree is made from a blend of PVC and hard needle tips. The needles feel real in the sense that they can prick you. We found that we got some scratches when shaping the tree. However, the synthetic coating on the branches certainly doesn’t feel real, and the same goes for the pinecones and berries. The “snow cover” made of some type of plastic is what we mainly felt when we touched any of the included decorations.
Features: Pre-lit with realistic decorations
This tree comes pre-lit with clear incandescent lights, which saved a ton of time when decorating. Plus, as mentioned above, this tree also has a number of decorations including pine cones, berries, and a coating of white that resembles snow. With the included decorations, it’s totally possible to get away with not adding any ornaments. This tree looks stunning and finished immediately after assembling and shaping. Price: A great deal on an artificial tree
On average, a quality artificial tree starts around $200. The Holiday Aisle Frosted Berry Green Pine Christmas Tree beats that price, retailing around $130 for the 6-foot option and $160 for the 7-foot version. Considering the quality, realistic look, and added decorations, we think it’s a great deal.
The Holiday Aisle Frosted Berry Green Pine Christmas Tree vs. Best Choice Products Spruce Hinged Artificial Christmas Tree
Best Choice Products’ 7.5-foot Spruce Hinged Artificial Christmas Tree is another inexpensive artificial tree we tested. It retails for anywhere from about $88 to $189 and measures 7.5 feet in height and 52 inches in diameter. Unlike The Holiday Aisle tree, it took us about an hour to set up the Best Choice Products tree due to its hefty size. We like that it offers a traditionally full shape and dark green shade, but it’s less realistic-looking than The Holiday Aisle’s model. It comes down to what the buyer is looking for: a more traditional tree or a more sophisticated, pre-decorated take. The Holiday Aisle Frosted Berry Green Pine Christmas Tree is definitely worth buying. The full-size tree offers a stylish look, pre-lit and pre-decorated branches, and lifelike needles. Plus, it’s super easy and quick to set up, meaning less time decorating and more time enjoying the holidays with loved ones.
